While I was living truly alone.

Walking around on a
low-tide sandbar
Tickled with ocean
Watching the kids today
Beach-bound and beer-slugging
Imagine it all empty
Wild and desolate
Seagulls in controlled spins

Slashing at wavecrests
No boardwalks
No towers
No summertime riots
Human chaff and flotsam
Clogging the sand
Police dogs and mopeds
All swept away suddenly
Just driftwood and seashells

And sandunes forever
